Tuna melt, grapes and chocolate chip cookies
April Reflection
Communication with Abbey: The communication with Abbey was the same as always, really easy and pretty regular. She is always great about getting back to me in a timely manner and answering any/all of the questions I have as well as giving me any other information needed for that month. She has been really great to work with and I will miss having her in the group next year. I hope that the girl that takes on her job next year is as efficient and overall wonderful to work with as Abbey was this year.
Communication with Mrs. Keith and Maura: I let both Mrs. Keith and Maura know that this would be the last meal this group would be doing, and that we would be taking a month or two off over the summer since everyone’s schedules are different, but that we would definitely be back in August, if not sooner.
Meal: The meal was fairly easy to make this time, so while it was cooking we mainly just discussed how things will be changing next year and also talked to Abbey, Mackenzie and Molly about their plans for next year. We made some extra cookies for ourselves as a little celebration to the end of the year and saying goodbye to the three seniors. We brought the meal to Grace Place on time and had no issues with transportation or delivery. I think it was a good idea for the girls to choose something simple and stress-free for this last meal.
Reflection: I talked with Megan and Rachel about meeting with Abbey and myself to discuss how we are going to go about doing things next year. Along with Megan, Rachel, and Abby from this year, Megan and Rachel said they knew of enough girls to join the group for next year and I told them we would schedule a meeting with just us soon to talk about the running of the program, and then a meeting with all of the girls later on in the summer to introduce them to the group and bring them up to speed on how we work. I am a little nervous for next year only because we won’t have any seniors to help out, it will be primarily all juniors, but I am confident that Megan and Rachel will do a great job leading the group and it will still be a great experience for all the girls involved. I will also be interested to see how the new group works with each other, since we had such a great rapport this year.
